Dr. Remund teaches undergraduate courses in public relations and graduate seminars and workshops within the Master of Communication Leadership program. Prior to joining the Drake faculty, Remund designed and managed strategic communications programs for Bank of America, Principal Financial Group, and Wells Fargo. He has consulted independently and worked in the agency environment as well, most recently as a director of strategic planning.

Remund’s research explores leadership and ethics in public relations, focusing on how young professionals and others new to public relations practice develop leadership competencies. His expertise spans business/financial literacy, emerging technology, organizational behavior, and the measurement and evaluation of strategic communication programs. Remund has been published in the Journal of Consumer Affairs, Journal of Leadership Studies, PR News’ Guidebook to Media Relations, Public Relations Review, and PR Tactics. In 2012, the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication honored Remund as one of the nation’s outstanding teachers of writing across media.

Remund earned his doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is nationally accredited by the Public Relations Society of America. Additionally, Remund belongs to the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication and the Association of Working Class Academics. He serves on the board of directors of Communities in Schools-Iowa, and on the marketing cabinet for the United Way of Central Iowa.
